ISTITUTO SUPERIORE PER LA PROTEZIONE E LA RICERCA AMBIENTALE (ISPRA)

The Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) acts under the vigilance and policy guidance of the Italian Ministry for the Environment. ISPRA performs Scientific and Technological Research applied to environmental protection. The main activities are related to environmental characterization, monitoring and reporting with respect to prevention, evaluation and mitigation of impacts, quality of the environment, habitats and biodiversity (protected areas and species), sustainable use of biological resources.

 

Principal Investigator:

Emiliana Valentini is a Biologist and PhD in ecology and sustainable management of coastal resources. She is research technician in remote sensing and advanced GIS applications for coastal ecosystems assessment at ISPRA, adjunct research scientist at Eucentre Foundation in the field of ecosystem services and natural capital analysis and member of the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP). She is interested in the application of remote sensing to the perspective theories of natural capital and ecosystem services valuation.
Her major contribution to Ecopotential is on the WP3, WP4 and WP7 tasks.
