Several Ecopotential scientists participated in the first International Open Science Meeting of the International LTER network (Oct 9-13), hosted by The Kruger National Park, South Africa, one of the Protected Areas studied in our project.
More than 300 scientists from all over the world gathered in this iconic park, one of the most important and old protected areas of Africa and of the world, to discuss about the many topics in long term ecological research. Main sessions regard Nitrogen Carbon and water cycles, Ecosystem Services, Biodiversity, Use of Remote sensing data, Modelling, Cross scale interactions, taking in consideration the need of data integration and interoperability and of linking local, regional and global Earth system observations and models.
